Pakistani companies bag 1 Gold and 8 Merit Awards

The 22nd Asia Pacific ICT Awards have been held in the capital of Pakistan for the first time in the last 23 years since the inception of this alliance of 16 regional economies. Over 150 foreign delegates from different countries got an opportunity to visit Pakistan.

With 16 different member economies participating in this mega event, winning at APICTA is a great way for participants to get recognition for their ICT innovations at an international level. The APICTA Awards not only promote the development and deployment of ICT solutions but also facilitate trade, business matching, technology exchange, and collaborations. This year, APICTA received 250+ nominations from 165 teams including Australia, China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Brunei, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, and Singapore. Each year, one of the member APICTA economies is responsible for hosting the APICTA Awards ceremony. This year, the Asia-Pacific ICT Alliance Awards was held in Hongkong.


Over the course of more than a decade, Pakistan IT Industry Association (P@SHA) has soundly upheld Pakistan’s representation at APICTA by taking the official delegation of winners and runner-ups from the annual P@SHA ICT Awards to showcase the country’s ICT talent. Multiple mentoring and coaching sessions were organized by P@SHA for the Pakistani candidates in order to prepare them for the APICTA presentations round and help them put their best foot forward. This year, a total of 9 awards were received by Pakistan in different categories, securing 1 winner and 8 runners-up positions.


The Gold award was won by the following team:

  1. FAST NUCES  in the Tertiary Student category

  2. Impetus Systems in Professional Services category

  3. Koyal by F9 in Marketplaces/Media & Entertainment/Tourism & Hospitality category

  4. Excellence Delivered (ExD) (Pvt.) Ltd. Internet of Things of the Year

  5. Social Champ, Inc in Banking, Insurance & Finance/Digital Marketing/Retail and Distribution Category

  6. Ace Aeronautics in Engineering & Construction/Transport Category

  7. National University of Sciences and Technology in Tertiary Student Project Category


The esteemed panel of judges along with the Economy Coordinator that represented Pakistan internationally included the following:

The judging cycle was held in Cyberport Hong Kong on Dec 6 and Dec 7 where over 600 delegates participated in the competition and a total of 24 panels of judges assessed the projects in great length and details.

Muhammad Zohaib Khan, APICTA EXCO Member and Chairman P@SHA, expressed his gratitude for the seamless and effective judging process and was delighted at the tremendous number of wins from Pakistan. He commented “This is a moment of great pride for Pakistan, I am amazed by the nature of projects that have been displayed but I’m proud to see women led projects taking the lead from Pakistan. This is a testament to our committed enthusiasm for empowering women within our country and enabling them to make Pakistan proud. We have also raised the bar high and are going to ace it more every year. With each passing year our industry is getting bigger and better and we hope we can play a significant part in this growth. Pakistan's tech talent is a force to be reckoned with as it is doubling our IT related exports every two years. I extend my congratulations to Pakistan for its youth making such an impact on the IT landscape of our region.”
